We hear this daily.

Everyone loves the mapping end products that we produce but they can’t see how to do it again with other items they are struggling with. How do you overcome this? It all starts with an open dialogue with the client to listen to their needs and make suggestions on how to accomplish their goals. Most people think that we are too busy to perform this. Nonsense. We can come up with ideas all day long of fancy map deliverables but they mean nothing without that initial client request.

Sometimes we get mapping services requests that we are not included in the end result. Talking to a potential client group a few weeks ago resulted in just that. They needed someone experienced to listen to them and tell them what to look for in their current environment because their perceived mapping need already existed. No sense in re-inventing the wheel unless it’s truly an improvement in the eyes of the client. In the end they went off very happy that they could find what they needed in their own back yard.

How do we stay in business with this approach you ask? We look at it as building trust. Becoming a trusted resource that will talk straight instead of blowing smoke just to get the business.
