SkimapĀ® Research and Design

I draw in the mountain as it really is, no warping of the terrain to make things line up, no exaggeration of elements either. Each resort gets a deep dive into everything that it offers.

That means finding any and all current or future data, pictures, reference material and the resort provided map of each mountain. Mapsynergy is truly independent and does not work directly for the resorts. Ultimately giving you an unbiased and honestly accurate look at every mountain from one source.

I include items not found on the resort provided map like lodging, topo lines, and new expansion proposals with a look that is consistent between all resorts. If available I include advanced terrain accessed by advanced avalanche gates, side country and nordic trails.

Included Features on all Skimaps

Proposed resort improvements including lifts, runs and expansion boundaries. All backed up with actual proposal site plans.

Lifts with name, capacity, speed (fixed grip or high speed detachable), loading points and direction (one way or downloading).

Resort boundaries with separate tree filled areas and open slope along with tree types surrounding the resort.

Resort named runs with flow direction and difficulty rating by green, blue and black. Circle, Square & Diamond symbols are replaced by intuitive single and double run lines for easy identification.

Terrain parks, slow skiing areas, snow cat service area, closed terrain, gates and cliff markers. Amenities include food, ski school, restrooms, ticket access, transportation options and first aid/patrol.

Parking location option with lot names if available, base amenities and lodging information.

Most importantly elevation characteristics with my custom HD elevation texture with 40′ or better in the US and 10m or better in Canada, New Zealand and Australia contour lines, peak and spot elevations.
